Why I Started Writing

Why I Started Writing

By: Tierra Shehzel

Writing has been a passion of mine since I was a child. Even at a young age, I found solace and joy in putting my thoughts on paper, often inspired by the books I would devour. One of my favorite assignments during my school years was the book reports, as it allowed me to combine two of my greatest loves: reading and writing.

However, as I entered my twenties, I veered away from writing, enticed by the allure of the party life. While I have no regrets about that period, it led me to temporarily neglect my passion for writing. It wasn’t until I received guidance, a gentle nudge from within, that I picked up the pen once again.

I discovered that whenever I have a clear and focused mind, it never fails me. I found that by reflecting on my day and journaling in an old composition book, my creative thoughts flowed effortlessly. But this time, something was different; I was overflowing with ideas, spinning a web of creativity that seemed unstoppable.

In this journey, my brand, Truth Lies Reality, had already found its footing, but it had yet to be fully defined and outlined. Today, a fire similar to that of Nat Turner’s burns within me constantly. This fire symbolizes a profound desire for change and upheaval in my life. It represents a longing to break free from the chains of societal conditioning, to expose the lies perpetuated by the elites and the true devils of the world.

I am acutely aware of how these same lies continue to be used to manipulate, steal, and even kill us in the present day. This “fire” within me guides my path, fueling my determination for retaliation and emphasizing the importance of separation. It reminds me that true freedom, fearlessness, and power lie in knowing oneself and in recognizing the divine spark within.

Writing has become my medium for expressing these truths, laying bare the realities of the world, and offering a voice for those who have been silenced. Through my words, I hope to inspire others to question the status quo, to seek their own truths, and to find strength in their identities.

So to my supporters, writing is not merely a hobby or a means of expression for me; it is a calling. It is a way to challenge the narratives that bind us and to set the flames a revolution of thought. Through writing, I strive to bring about positive change, to dismantle systems of oppression, and to empower individuals to reclaim their power.
